Theatre Modo is an award winning Scottish based company formed to bring to life the magic of theatre. We combine all the elements that make theatre a truly invigorating and exciting live artform; great texts, a highly physical style that engages and includes its audience, a visually spectacular design flair and a fully integrated musical performance.

Developing and directing participatory youth and community projects across Scotland, we also ensure an engagement with the younger generation, expanding access to and involvement in theatre in Scotland, whether as audience or as participant.

Our work with disadvantaged communities and groups where there have been issues with integration and confidence, have led to the development of a style of circus theatre that combines the demonstrable achievements that circus skills can offer, and a ‘sideways’ approach to tackling issues to create a style of theatre that has real lasting impacts on the participants while also creating memorable and exciting shows.

Our aims are:

• To use theatre for the social and personal development of all participants.
• To establish a new, young and demanding audience for theatre through participatory work with youth and communities.

• To develop Theatre Modo’s presence in Scotland as a stylistically original and inspiring force in Scottish Theatre.
